Our workshop is located on the ground floor of our home. In addition to the approximately 150 square meters of working space, we also have an outside working space of 100 m2.
This garden area can be used when the weather is suitable. One of our studios main features is the natural light, with 12 linear meters of south-facing windows. In addition to the beautiful Mediterranean climate and close proximity to Barcelona, it is an ideal location to contemplate new ideas and carry out your projects.
Our shop is divided into several specific work areas.
The plate creating area
Artist’s workplace, with a large table.
Mechanical zone with a wide variety of saws, milling machines, guillotines, flexible shafts, drills, and a set of electrical tools. Artists are able to work on metal materials (copper, iron, …) as well as on plastic and wood.
We can accommodate copper plates up to a maximum size of 100×200 cm. 39.3×78.74 inches.
We have three motorized presses with the following bed sizes:

The space dedicated to mordants (ferric chloride) has different sizes tanks.

A table for cleaning plates with a high pressure hoose if needed.
Dark room / photo-etching area:
The workshop is equipped to make photo-etching with photopolymers plates. You can also use photopolymer emulsion film on copper plates.

We have the capacity and expertise to offer the following technical support to the artists:
Direct intaglio techniques
Etching plates, spit biting and aquatints.
Drypoint, mezzotint, direct works on the plate with flexible shaft, use of drills to scrape, polish and draw on the plate.
Indirect intaglio techniques
Positive and negative etching with wax, inks and pastels. Etching with oil and other solvents. Positive and negative relief etching.
Aquatint with rosin or asphalt; positive and negative aquatint, sugar aquatint; lavis aquatint; acid aquatint; sulphur aquatint; toner aquatint; lithographic ink aquatint; asphalt, alcohol, water, solvent and white ground aquatint.
Using new digital and analog technologies we offer the possibility to add either digital or photographic text and pictures. We currently use transfers of digitally manipulated material or photocopies over metallic surfaces, photopolymer emulsion in film over metallic surfaces and photopolymer plates.
