We offer a professional workshop specializing inintaglio printmaking. As owner/operators of Murtra Edicions, we have worked with and printed for artists since (1991) creating plates and printing editions and special collections. We have taught courses locally and have been invited to teach in Europe and in northern Canada. We publish prints, artists’ portfolios and books for individual artists as well as publishers, museums, galleries and private companies.
We are inviting visual artists, writers and poets to our new residency to provide you with the personal and workshop space you need to research and create your work. Our rural setting provides a tranquil space for you to live and work.You have the freedom to create your own work or participate in our selection of courses and seminars.
Our living space, the residency and our studio is housed on three separate floors of our lovely home. We are surrounded by a small garden, where we host several special but shy turtle guests.
The house is located in Arenys de Munt, approximately 30 minutes from Barcelona and 45 from Girona by road. Arenys de Mar, the adjoining seaside town, is within walking distance and where you can catch local transport to Barcelona. Local commutor trains travel regularly to and from Barcelona, on their north/south route along the coast, passing through Arenys de Munt towards Figueres and back.
Arenys de Munt is in the Maresme region, which extends from the Barcelona coast up to the Costa Brava. This region is graced with beautiful beaches, excellent hiking and is rich with local culture.
The Residence is 5 minutes away from the Arenys de Munt and Arenys beach. You can visit the Palau and Fabra Foundation, which house a collection of artwork by Picasso and Perejaume amongst other artists. There are walking routes in natural parcs like Montnegre-Corredor or Montseny.
Our studio location is ideal. You can easily make day trips to Barcelona or Girona while living in our relaxed retreat-like setting in the countryside.
