Claire Hankey, an artist resident from the United Kingdom, residency January 2026. I had the most wonderful two weeks at the Art Print Residence, learning large format Monoprinting and Photopolymer Etching. Ariadna is such a great teacher, her instructions were clear and thorough, by the end of the course I was able to print independently at my own pace. The workshop is incredibly well resourced, it was an absolute delight to work there. I made the most of every minute and created a whole body of work during my time at the residence. I was made to feel so welcome by everyone and I now am looking forward to planning my next visit. Thank you to Ariadna, Jordy and Claudia for making this such an amazing experience!

Andrea J. Lee, an artist in residence from Canada, January 2026. Highlights of my time at APR: a wide range of presses, dozens of colour choices for ink, even more paper possibilities, along with experienced technical help in a serene and focussed setting. Creating in this environment meant I could FOCUS because everything I needed (and more) was provided, and living comfortably less than one minute away meant my art was the #1 and only PRIORITY – a truly rare and precious, productive experience. Our shared passion for printmaking and Google translate overcame any language barriers and seeing large scale art grew my sense of possibilities. I felt able to deepen my commitment to printmaking and am extremely happy with the nearly 50 prints I was able to make in my two weeks. Expect a deep and immersive experience, with some fun along the way.

Marie-Claude Morel, artist-in-residence for the seventh time from France; November 2025. This place feels like home  but not only! It really is a very special place where everything is done and available to you so that you have no excuse to be unable to realize even the most ambitious project. That is why residents return again and again happy with Claudia and Jordi’s warm welcome and expertise. A big hug to them and to Ariadna.
I look forward to coming back for an 8th residence next year!

Moshe Shai Rosenfeld, an artist resident from Haifa; two residencies in 2025.

I was at an artist residency program twice during the last year. The first time, I came for a week and took the Monoprint course with Jordi. The course was precise and re-taught me the technique, which I was already familiar with.
During the week, I printed a wide range of images in black, and in two colors.
The second time, I came six months later for two weeks, in order to continue printing monoprints. During the time I was there, I printed a lot!
Jordi was in the studio and was available and ready to help with everything I needed.
When I needed a break, I went out for a short walk or to grab something in the nearby village. It was a learning and intense experience.
The accommodation conditions in the house were good and pleasant as well.

Mariya Bilyan, artist resident from United Kingdom, residency March – April 2025. Working at Art Printing Residence has been an absolute pleasure. From the very first visit, I was struck not only by the incredible level of equipment and professionalism but also by the warmth and dedication of the people who run it – Ariadna, Jordi and Claudia. Their passion, knowledge, and friendly attitude create a truly welcoming and inspiring atmosphere.

The studio itself is exceptionally well-equipped, offering everything a creative mind might need to bring ideas to life. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered to support high-quality production.

What makes this place even more special is its location. Nestled in a beautiful and serene setting, the environment naturally fuels creativity. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to stay longer, work harder, and dive deeper into your projects. All in all, this studio is a rare gem – a perfect blend of top-tier equipment, a stunning location, and truly wonderful people. I can’t recommend it enough.

Lizzie Horne, an artist in residence from Australia, will be participating in her third residency in 2025.

Having just travelled from Australia to complete my third residency, I can thoroughly recommend APR to any printmaker wanting to complete a new body of work. Apart from courses in the amazing range of techniques Jordi and Ariadna offer, the studio is a printmaker’s dream; the largest acid bath I have ever seen, dedicated cleaning and work spaces, and a stunning range of tools and inks. Not sure when I will be back, but I surely will!

Jen Humphreys, artist resident from Scotland, residency July 2025. I had a fantastic time during my Art Print Residency! The studio set up is excellent, Ariadna and Jordi are extremely knowledgeable and generous people, it was a pleasure to work alongside them and my fellow residents. The workspace and accommodation was well organised and this allowed me to really focus on my work during my time here. I would love to come back, and I would highly recommend this to any printmaker, it was highly productive, inspiring and motivating. Thank you for such a great opportunity!

Jordi, Claudia and Ariadna at Art Print Residence make me wish I could stay with them (and keep on making work in their amazing print workshop) forever and a day!
I can’t wait to return, for yet another printmaking residency with them, in this very special part of Catalunya…

Simon Trewin artist resident, from England. May 2025. I arrived at Art Print Residence in Barcelona feeling jittery and unsure, hoping to focus on letterpress printing. By the time I left, I felt like I’d stretched every creative muscle I had—supported at every step by the dream team of Jordi and Ariadna. They patiently indulged my endless questions and shared techniques to help me turn my ideas into something real and meaningful.

The studio itself is a playground for any printmaker: the sheer range of inks and papers took my ideas to a completely new level. In my second week, I even tackled one of the giant presses—my biggest piece ever, with 37 different photopolymer plates. It was pure magic to see that first test print emerge, to hold something so massive and know that I’d made it.

It’s not just the work, though—it’s the whole place. It’s the ease of walking up two flights of stairs at night to crash in the cozy residence above. It’s sharing a meal or a glass of wine with fellow artists from all over, swapping stories about our projects and plotting out where to explore during the weekend. And yes, it’s the two tortoises (Mr Red Dot and Mr Two Red Dots), the occasional cat cameo, and that unstoppable robot vacuum that always made me smile.

I felt a real ache leaving it all behind—new friends, new ways of working, and that whole atmosphere of creativity and gentle encouragement. Art Print Residence isn’t just a place to make prints—it’s a place to push yourself, to feel seen and supported, and to remember why you do this work in the first place.

Spent 12 days at Art Print Residence and this was one of the best investments I ever made. Learned so much of the photogravure process. The studio is set-up is very professional and residents’ housing is exceptional. Our expert hosts Jordi and Claudia were always at hand to instruct and advise. And special thanks to my tutor Ariadna! I would definitely go again if I find the time!

The Mokuhanga workshop by great artist Katsutoshi Yuasa,  was fantastic. The beauty of Japanese print methods and contemporary photography techniques,  is a very interesting experience.

This week was absolutely wonderful and I would like to sincerely thank you for the incredible residency in Arenys de Munt. I had a truly enriching and productive week. Your support allowed me to explore new projects and develop my work in meaningful ways.

The variety of Japanese papers, the exceptional quality of the paints, and the diverse range of tools in your workshop made for an inspiring and creative environment. I particularly appreciated the freedom to experiment with different formats and the trust you placed in me. 

Ariadna, I’m especially grateful for your help with the photopolymer plates—it was invaluable.

I’m already looking forward to returning and continuing the work we started.

Birgitte Rubæk artist resident from Denmark, October 2024. I had a fantastic an immensely productive time at the Art Print Residency. I learned so much from the masterprinters and the new techniques I have added to my artistic practise is definitely going to have a big impact on my future work. 
I just love the concentrated energy in the studio and the cornucopia of the best inks, papers and tools available to try out. The genuine interest in your work, the guiding expertise and the warm family feeling of the residency is just such a rare and lovely combination.

I did white groung etching on a cooper plate with Jordi ,
Mokulito course with Ariadna and photogravure with Silvi Glattaeur. They are the best teachers I had ,very professionnal, patient and welcoming, and I had so many creative wonderful time in this place with so many inkcolors and big press, fulled with plants in the poetic loggia and garden.
The accomodation in an a shared appartement with many artists coming from all the world on the second floor is very convenient to work with efficiency.
Many thanks to Jordi, Claudia, Ariadna a lovely creative family I ‘m happy to have met. Don’t hesitate to discover this place near Barcelone.
