Welcome to Our New Artists in Residence: Claire Hankey & Enna Cheung

Claire Hankey & Enna Cheung

Artists in Residence · September 2026

This September, Art Print Residence is hosting two artists for month-long residencies: Claire Hankey from the United Kingdom and Enna Cheung from Hong Kong.

Claire Hankey returns to Art Print Residence for her second artist residency. During her stay, she will focus on the development of her own artistic project, working with large-scale monotypes. Taking advantage of the facilities and large-format printing possibilities of our professional studio, Claire will explore the expressive qualities of monotype through scale, colour, gesture, layering and experimentation.

Enna Cheung will dedicate her residency to a Large-Scale Soft-Ground Intaglio Workshop, led by Ariadna Abadal. Throughout the course, she will explore soft-ground techniques on large-format plates, developing different approaches to drawing, texture, etching, inking and printing.

Both artists will be working at Art Print Residence throughout September 2026, each developing an individual project while sharing the studio environment and an intensive period dedicated to printmaking.

We look forward to following the development of their projects throughout the month.Welcome a new artist residents Claire Hankey & Enna Cheung

Claire Hankey — United Kingdom

Artist in Residence · January 2026

Claire Hankey, an artist from the United Kingdom, joined Art Print Residence for an artist residency in January 2026, dedicating her stay to exploring different approaches to monoprinting and photographic printmaking.

During her residency, Claire took part in the Monoprint and Water-Based Monoprint course, led by Jordi Rosés. Through this process, she experimented with the spontaneous and painterly possibilities of monoprinting, working with colour, layering, transparency and different methods of transferring images onto paper.

An important part of her project was the creation of a series of large-format monoprints, allowing her to explore composition, gesture and the relationship between colour and surface on a larger scale.

Claire also completed a Photopolymer Photo-Etching course, led by Ariadna Abadal, where she learned how photographic imagery can be transferred onto photopolymer plates and developed through intaglio printing techniques.

Her residency at Art Print Residence brought together the immediacy and experimental character of monoprinting with the precision and photographic possibilities of photopolymer printmaking, giving her the opportunity to explore different processes and expand her artistic practice in the professional environment of the studio.
