Martina Steinbacher — Austria
Artist in Residence · October 2026
Art Print Residence is pleased to welcome Martina Steinbacher, an artist from Austria, for an artist residency focused on etching and aquatint.
During her stay, Martina is participating in an Etching and Aquatint Workshop, led by Ariadna Abadal.
Throughout the course, she will explore the different stages of traditional intaglio printmaking, from preparing and working on the plate to etching, aquatint, inking and printing.
Combining etching and aquatint will allow Martina to work with both line and tonal values, exploring different textures, depths and contrasts while developing her own images.
Under the guidance of Ariadna Abadal, her residency at Art Print Residence provides an intensive period of technical learning, experimentation and creative development within traditional intaglio printmaking.
