Art Print Residence is pleased to welcome Sharon Epstein, an artist from Canada, for an artist residency dedicated to the exploration of Mokulito.
During her stay, Sharon will participate in a Mokulito Course led by Ariadna Abadal, exploring the creative and technical possibilities of this alternative lithographic process using wood as the printing matrix.
Throughout the course, Sharon will work through the different stages of the Mokulito process, from preparing and drawing on the plywood plate to processing, inking and printing.
Under the guidance of Ariadna Abadal, the residency will provide an opportunity to experiment with the distinctive qualities of Mokulito, exploring line, texture, tonal variation and the natural characteristics of the wood surface.
Her time at Art Print Residence will be an intensive period of learning, experimentation and artistic development, introducing new possibilities for incorporating Mokulito into her own printmaking practice.
