In October 2026, Art Print Residence is delighted to host an international group of artists for a special Mokulito Workshop led by Japanese master printmaker Tadashi Kobayashi.
This intensive workshop brings together artists from the United Kingdom, France, the United States, Australia, Norway, Denmark and Lithuania, creating an international environment for artistic exchange, technical learning and experimentation.
Under the guidance of Tadashi Kobayashi, participants will explore the creative and technical possibilities of Mokulito, a lithographic printmaking process that uses wood as the printing matrix.
Throughout the workshop, the artists will investigate the different stages of the Mokulito process, from preparing and drawing on plywood plates to processing, inking and printing. Particular attention will be given to the expressive qualities of this technique, exploring line, tonal values, textures and the natural characteristics of wood.
The workshop offers an opportunity to combine traditional lithographic principles with contemporary approaches to printmaking, allowing each participant to develop their own artistic language through experimentation and individual projects.
The course is led by Tadashi Kobayashi, with Ariadna Abadal, Head of the Printmaking Studio at Art Print Residence, providing technical and organizational support, assisted by Vėjūnė Leškytė, Studio Assistant.
