Agnieszka C. Mackowiak, an artist from Poland, joined Art Print Residence for an artist residency in January 2026.
During her stay, she took part in a Mokuhanga with Natural Pigments course led by Ariadna Abadal. The course focused on traditional Japanese water-based woodblock printing techniques, with particular attention to the preparation and use of natural pigments, colour application, and printing processes.
As part of her residency, Agnieszka also attended a Woodcut Tool Sharpening course led by Jordi Rosés. This practical training focused on the correct sharpening and maintenance of woodcut carving tools, an essential skill for achieving precision, control, and clean results when carving woodblocks.
Her residency combined technical learning with hands-on experimentation, giving her the opportunity to deepen her knowledge of Mokuhanga and woodcut techniques while developing her own artistic practice in the professional and creative environment of Art Print Residence.
