Welcome to Art Print Residence, Jan War!
Art Print Residence is delighted to welcome Jan War, an artist from Australia, who joins us to explore the creative possibilities of drypoint on plastic plates, with the guidance and technical advice of Jordi Rosés.
During this residency, Jan will experiment with a wide variety of engraving tools, both manual and mechanical, combining traditional printmaking tools with unconventional instruments and tools originally designed for other techniques.
The aim is to investigate and expand the textural possibilities of drypoint, exploring how different tools and methods of mark-making can produce a rich variety of lines, surfaces, textures and graphic effects.
Through this experimental approach, Jan will deepen the understanding of the expressive potential of plastic plates, discovering new ways to develop images through intaglio printmaking.
