In April 2026, Arturo Talavera, an artist from Mexico, completed an artist residency at Art Print Residence, focusing on the Advanced Photopolymer Course, led by Ariadna Abadal.

During his stay, Arturo explored advanced approaches to photopolymer printmaking, developing his knowledge of the process from image preparation and plate exposure to development, inking and final printing.

Under the guidance of Ariadna Abadal, he experimented with the technical and creative possibilities of photopolymer plates, working with photographic imagery, tonal values and different approaches to image-making within contemporary intaglio printmaking.

His residency coincided with those of Karin Kent from Norway and Nefise Işıl Acar Sürmeli from Türkiye, who participated in the Etching and Aquatint on Copper Course, led by Jordi Rosés and Ariadna Abadal.

At the end of their residencies, Arturo, Karin and Nefise presented the results of their work in a final exhibition at Art Print Residence and received their course certificates, bringing together the different projects and techniques developed during their time in the studio.

Arturo’s residency offered him an intensive period of research and experimentation, allowing him to deepen his knowledge of advanced photopolymer processes and expand their possibilities within his own artistic practice.

Elena Peinado Nevado, an artist from France, joined Art Print Residence in February 2026 for her first artist residencyat the studio.

During her stay, Elena took part in a Direct-to-Plate Photopolymer course together with Malcy Delacour, an artist from the United Kingdom who was returning to Art Print Residence for her third residency.

Under the guidance of Ariadna Abadal, they explored the creative and technical possibilities of photopolymer printmaking, working through the complete process, from image preparation and plate exposure to developing, inking and printing.

During her first residency at Art Print Residence, Elena combined technical learning with experimentation and the development of her own artistic work, taking advantage of the studio’s professional facilities and creative environment.

Malcy Delacour, an artist from the United Kingdom, returned to Art Print Residence in February 2026 for her third artist residency, continuing a creative relationship with the studio developed over her previous stays.

During this residency, Malcy took part in a Direct-to-Plate Photopolymer course, exploring the possibilities of photopolymer printmaking and learning the complete process, from image preparation and plate exposure to developing, inking and printing.

The course was taught by Elena Peinado Nevado, under the direction and supervision of Ariadna Abadal.

Throughout her stay, Malcy combined technical learning with experimentation and the development of her own artistic work, taking full advantage of the professional printmaking facilities and creative environment at Art Print Residence.

Pernille Koch Larsen

Pernille Koch Larsen — Denmark

Pernille Koch Larsen, an artist from Denmark, returned to Art Print Residence in February 2026 for her second artist residency with us.

During her stay, Pernille took part in an Etching and Aquatint course led by Jordi Rosés, developing her work on metal plates and exploring the expressive possibilities of traditional intaglio printmaking. Through different stages of etching, aquatint and printing, she was able to experiment with line, tone, texture and the rich range of values that these techniques can offer.

Alongside her work in traditional etching, Pernille also explored photographic imagery using photopolymer plates, with technical guidance and advice from Ariadna Abadal. This allowed her to combine photographic processes with printmaking and expand the visual possibilities of her project.

Her second residency at Art Print Residence provided an opportunity to continue developing her printmaking practice, combining traditional intaglio techniques with contemporary photopolymer processes in the professional environment of our studio.

We were delighted to welcome Pernille back to Art Print Residence and to accompany her once again in the development of her work.

Claire Hankey — United Kingdom

Claire Hankey, an artist from the United Kingdom, joined Art Print Residence for an artist residency in January 2026, dedicating her stay to exploring different approaches to monoprinting and photographic printmaking.

During her residency, Claire took part in the Monoprint and Water-Based Monoprint course, led by Jordi Rosés. Through this process, she experimented with the spontaneous and painterly possibilities of monoprinting, working with colour, layering, transparency and different methods of transferring images onto paper.

An important part of her project was the creation of a series of large-format monoprints, allowing her to explore composition, gesture and the relationship between colour and surface on a larger scale.

Claire also completed a Photopolymer Photo-Etching course, led by Ariadna Abadal, where she learned how photographic imagery can be transferred onto photopolymer plates and developed through intaglio printing techniques.

Her residency at Art Print Residence brought together the immediacy and experimental character of monoprinting with the precision and photographic possibilities of photopolymer printmaking, giving her the opportunity to explore different processes and expand her artistic practice in the professional environment of the studio.
