Monoprinting is a form of printmaking that gives images or lines that can only be made once, unlike most printmaking, where there are multiple originals. The surface, or matrix, has been traditionally a copper plate, but in contemporary work can be used other materials.

Trace Monotype
Trace monotype is a method of printmaking that is accomplished by drawing on a sheet of paper that has been positioned on an inked, still-wet plate. The contact and transfer of ink from the plate to the reverse side of your drawing results in the final print.

You will learn how to use water-based materials to create monoprints. This is a non toxic technique as we won’t be using any chemicals.

Large format Monoprints
This course focuses on the creation of monoprints in a large format employing oil-based inks or water-based paints, with a particular emphasis on adapting the techniques and materials to the challenges presented by large formats. Our presses are specifically designed to facilitate the production of images on paper dimensions measuring 124 x 240 cm. 48.82 x 94.49 inches
