Sallie Harker — Antigua and Barbuda

Art Print Residence is delighted to welcome back Sallie Harker, an artist from Antigua and Barbuda, for her fifth artist residency with us.
During this new residency, Sallie will dedicate her time in the studio to the development and printing of a series of multi-plate woodcuts on plywood, working with multiple plywood plates and cut-out plywood plates to construct her images through different layers, shapes and colours.
Her project draws inspiration from the life and natural environment of the Caribbean, incorporating elements of its vegetation, landscapes and everyday life into her printmaking practice.
Throughout her stay at Art Print Residence, Sallie will continue to explore the expressive possibilities of woodcut on plywood, experimenting with the interaction between multiple plates, cut-out shapes, colour and layered printing.
We are especially pleased to welcome Sallie back for her fifth residency, continuing a long-standing relationship with Art Print Residence and providing a new opportunity for her to develop and expand her ongoing printmaking practice.
